The March of the Living is an international education program that brings Jewish teens in 11th and 12th grade from all over the world to Poland on Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Memorial Day. On that day, together with 6,000 others, including survivors accompanying our group, we will march from Auschwitz to Birkenau and participate in a moving ceremony televised worldwide. We visit sites of Jewish interest in the cities of Warsaw, Lublin and Cracow. From there we travel to Israel, to see the land of our people, to observe Yom HaZikaron, Israel's Memorial Day and then celebrate Yom HaAtzmaut, Israel's Independence Day. The experience leads to a better understanding of the Holocaust and strengthens Jewish identity.
